Maestro Ricardo Castro

Ricardo Castro is making his master’s degree in Orchestral Conducting at Simón Bolívar University in Caracas, Venezuela, with maestro Alfredo Rugeles. He also graduated in Choral and Orchestral Conducting at Brasília’s University with maestro David Junker after a fast improvement at Brasília’s Music School.

He participated in conducting masterclasses in Italy, Czech Republic, Argentina, Venezuela and Brazil with maestros Helmuth Rilling, Kirk Trevor, Sergio Feferovich, Lanfranco Marcelletti, among others. He also had complementary orchestral conducting classes with maestro Emílio de César in 2009 and 2010 in Brasília.

Ricardo Castro had conducted the Rossini Symphony Orchestra (Italy), Lanús Municipal Chamber Orchestra (Argentina), Eleazar de Carvalho Summer Arts Festival Orchestra (Brazil), CIVEBRA’s Symphony Orchestra (Brazil) and the Classical Camerata (Poços de Caldas, Brazil). He also conducted the operas “La Forza Del Destino” “Orfeo ed Euridice” and “Dido & Aeneas”. His experience includes ensembles like Brasília’s Chamber Choir, Brasília’s University Madrigal, Brasília’s University Symphonic Choir, FEB’s Choir and District Philharmonic Choir.

He founded the Brasília’s Chamber Choir in 2001 and a musical institute named “Centro de Música Ricardo Castro”, developing educational and musical projects from 2003 to 2010. As a soloist singer, had participated in concerts with the Brasília’s University Symphony Orchestra and “Ars Hodierna” Orchestra. Ricardo Castro started studiyng violin in 2007 and had played in ensembles like the Orchestra of the Embassy of Ecuador in Venezuela and Humboldt’s School Orchestra, where nowadays he’s teaches Orquestral Pratice.
